Pouf-coffee table STRESA 105

Designed by Piero Lissoni for Roda, the Stresa collection brings clean proportions and refined aluminum construction to outdoor living. It moves easily between residential terraces and contract settings, combining lightness with durability across sofas, lounge chairs, poufs, tables, and more.

A Design That Doesn’t Try Too Hard

Piero Lissoni designed the Stresa collection around balance. The lines are clean without being cold, the proportions measured without feeling rigid. There’s a quiet confidence to the silhouette — nothing is overworked. The perforated backrest with its small diamond pattern is the one detail that catches the eye, giving the lounge chair a visual lightness that reads well from across a terrace.

It fits naturally into different environments. A private home, a hotel courtyard, a Mediterranean garden — Stresa doesn’t demand a specific setting. It adapts.

Built From Aluminum, Built to Last

The entire structure is powder-coated aluminum. That matters more than it might sound. Aluminum doesn’t rust, doesn’t warp, and stays manageable in terms of weight. The slatted base is designed to hold cushions in place while still letting water and air move through — practical without being an afterthought.

Table tops are in grès, a dense and resistant material that holds up well against sun, rain, and daily use. It contrasts well with the metal frame — not dramatically, just enough to add some material warmth to an otherwise refined structure.

Comfort That’s Actually There

The sofa sits at 17¾ inches with the cushion in place — low and relaxed, the kind of seat height that encourages people to stay put. Cushions are hydro-draining, so they shed water rather than absorb it. That’s a detail that makes a real difference in outdoor settings, where cushions often become the weak point of an otherwise solid piece.

The overall depth is 35 inches, which gives enough room to sit properly without the piece feeling oversized. And the cushion fabric options are broad — from Allegro and Oxford to Shore and Loom — so the comfort layer can be tailored to the space.

Where It Lives Best

Stresa works across a wide range of contexts. Residentially, it suits any outdoor space with some intention behind it — a rooftop, a garden, a covered loggia. In contract settings, it holds its own in terms of both durability and visual consistency across multiple pieces.

The collection is complete enough to furnish a full outdoor room. Sofas, lounge chairs, dining chairs, poufs, coffee tables, a dining table in two sizes. The pouf system is worth noting — it can integrate a coffee table surface, shifting from a seat to a surface to a combination of both depending on how the space is being used that day.

Something That Holds Up Over Time

Roda builds Stresa to stay relevant and functional over years of use. Aluminum is fully recyclable. The grès tops are resistant to the kind of wear that outdoor furniture typically faces. The cushion fabrics are selected for outdoor performance, not just appearance.

It doesn’t age out of a space. But more than that — it was designed to hold up without requiring much attention. That’s probably the most honest thing that can be said about it.

Nordic design inspires HAY's taste for clean lines, simple geometric shapes, and quality materials like wood, metal, and textiles. Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox.
