NASTRO

Description

Nastro, 1964, is a rattan armchair with a polyurethane cushion and removable cover, which summarizes the relationship between space and time in design, typical of Colombo’s poetics. Nastro is autonomous, flexible, transformable and independent from the architectural context. For Joe Colombo, furniture was equipment that could be used in different ways, and on different occasions, to meet the needs of the user. Having started out with manufacturing and materials linked to tradition, he later concentrated on the adoption of experimental contributions, such as fiberglass, polyethylene and PVC, and the introduction of innovative technologies.
