Table TESEO 220

The Teseo dining table by Roda is crafted from FSC-certified teak with cord stitching that joins each slat by hand. Designed by AMDL CIRCLE, it brings a refined sartorial detail to outdoor dining spaces. Available at 87 inches long, it pairs naturally with the Teseo chair.

A Table Built Around One Idea

The Teseo outdoor dining table starts with a single distinctive detail: cord stitching. Each teak slat that makes up the tabletop is joined using a continuous polyester cord, 3mm in diameter, running through the wood in a process that Roda describes as ‘sewing wood.’ It sounds simple. But the result is something that immediately catches the eye, a surface that feels both structural and considered at the same time.

Designed by AMDL CIRCLE, the table doesn’t rely on ornamentation. The stitching is the design. And that restraint is exactly what makes it work.

How It’s Made

The table is built from FSC-certified teak, which means the wood is sourced responsibly. That matters, especially for furniture meant to live outdoors season after season. The teak slats are carefully laid across the top and held together by the cord running between them, creating a balance between the flat surface above and the turned, sinuous legs below.

The legs are not an afterthought. Their curved, sculpted profile contrasts with the more geometric, stitched top in a way that feels deliberate. The structure combines teak and polyester cord, and nothing about that combination feels like a compromise.

Dimensions and Presence

At 87 3/8 inches long and 43 1/4 inches deep, this is a generous table. It seats a real group comfortably, with an internal distance between the legs of 78 3/4 inches, so there’s no awkward positioning around the base. Height sits at 29 7/8 inches, with 26 inches of clearance under the top, which is standard and works with most outdoor seating.

It has presence without being heavy. The open slat construction keeps it from feeling too solid or imposing, even at this scale.

Where It Belongs

This is outdoor furniture, built for terraces, garden dining areas, or covered patios where the setting deserves something more considered than a standard market table. It fits naturally in spaces where people actually spend time, not just on occasion but regularly. The Teseo collection, including the matching dining chair with its own faceted cord detail, was clearly designed with that kind of use in mind.

It works in a modern garden as well as a more classic terrace. The teak will weather naturally over time if left untreated, shifting toward a silver-grey patina. Or it can be maintained to hold its warmer tone. Either way, it looks right.

Built to Last

Teak is one of the most durable hardwoods available for outdoor use. It’s naturally resistant to moisture, temperature changes, and the kind of wear that comes with regular outdoor dining. The polyester cord is equally resilient, holding its shape and tension without stretching or degrading quickly under sun exposure.

Roda made a table that should comfortably outlast several seasons of heavy use. And the design is specific enough to feel original, but grounded enough not to date itself in a few years.

Nordic design inspires HAY's taste for clean lines, simple geometric shapes, and quality materials like wood, metal, and textiles. Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox.
