Morbido Square Coffee Table
The Morbido square coffee table by Jamela Alawneh for Melaaura pairs a solid Grade A teak plinth base with a thick slab of honed travertine — natural stone, cut square and generous, floating low over the timber platform. The centrepiece of the Morbido outdoor arrangement. Made to order, with custom sizing available on request.
From the Morbido collection by Melaaura, the Morbido square coffee table brings natural stone into the collection’s warm timber language. A thick slab of honed travertine rests on four solid teak columns above a low plinth base — stone floating over wood, with a clean shadow line between the two that gives the piece its quiet architectural presence.
Travertine has furnished courtyards and terraces since antiquity. Each slab is cut from natural stone and honed to a soft matte finish, its surface carrying the mineral veining and open pores that no two slabs repeat — a depth and variation no manufactured surface reproduces. Sealed for life outdoors, the stone takes sun, rain, and the heat of a summer afternoon in stride.
The base is Grade A teak, the dense, oil-rich heartwood classification used throughout the collection, composed with the same clean geometry as the larger Morbido pieces and finished with a protective varnish. Like every teak element in the range, it lives outdoors year-round — holding its golden tone with simple care or weathering to an elegant silver-grey.
Low and generous in its square proportion, the table is scaled to anchor the Morbido sectional or a circle of lounge chairs, the plinth below keeping books and trays close at hand while the broad stone top carries everything an afternoon outside requires.
Each table is made to order.
