Boldini is Ethimo’s sculptured coffee table taken down in scale and up in colour. It keeps the character of the original Bold project — heavy stone carried on chunky, almost ceramic-vessel legs — but reinterprets it across three sizes and a far more saturated palette.
The sizes cover very different jobs. At 46 x 42 cm the small version is a side table in all but name, easily moved and placed beside a chair. The 120 x 100 cm and 160 x 100 cm models are full lounge tables, substantial enough to anchor a seating group. All three are offered at 28 cm and 40 cm high.
What makes the collection distinctive is the pairing of stone and glaze. Three combinations are offered: French Red marble with Glazed Ceramic Red, Guatemala Green marble with Glazed Ceramic Forest Green, and glossy Travertino with Glazed Ceramic Light Cream. Each puts a veined natural stone against a solid, high-gloss ceramic — a deliberate contrast between something formed by geology and something formed in a kiln.
The colours reference the tones of earth and Mediterranean flora, which is why Boldini tends to work best when it is allowed to be the point of colour in an otherwise restrained scheme.
