Esedra Highback Lounge Armchair

The highback armchair is the Esedra collection’s statement piece. At 101 cm wide with a back rising to 100 cm, it wraps around the sitter almost completely — a shape borrowed from the exedra, the curved seating recess of classical architecture that Luca Nichetto took as his starting point for Ethimo.

The 40 cm seat height is low and lounge-oriented, which combined with the enclosing back produces a chair that is genuinely sheltering. In an exposed position it cuts wind; in a busy one it creates privacy.

The frame is textured matt aluminium in Warmwhite or Dark Grey, wrapped in Natwick fibre in Sand Beige and available in tight or wide weave. The wide weave in particular emphasises the curvature of the back, since the pattern stretches visibly around the form.

Cushions are offered in Acrylic Nature White and Acrylic Black Stone, with matching decorative cushions. At 35 kg the chair is substantial but still movable by one person.
