Aria Floor Lamp

Aria is a lamp made almost entirely of air — which is what the name means. Madrid studio Mayice built it from powder-coated stainless steel wire, formed by hand into an open volume that reads as a drawn line rather than a solid shade.

At Ø36 cm and 120 cm tall the floor version sits at side-table height, throwing light through the wire structure so the pattern falls across the surfaces around it. Lit at night the object nearly disappears and the light pattern becomes the piece.

The cord is fabric-covered, a detail that keeps the whole object in the same handmade register rather than introducing an industrial element at the last moment.

Because each lamp is formed entirely by hand, no two are identical — small variations in the wire geometry are inherent to the process rather than defects.
