Dafne Outdoor Coffee Table
The Dafne outdoor coffee table by Rugiano is offered round or square. Both are built from moulded bands of bronze outdoor aluminium that interlace into a continuous sculptural base, carrying a stone top.
The base is the design. Moulded bands of bronze outdoor aluminium interlace in a continuous rhythm, alternating solid and void so the structure reads as light despite its real mass.
Two geometries are offered. The round version lets the curves of the weave run uninterrupted; the square version sets that same interlace against hard corners, which makes the architectural quality more explicit.
Either way the effect is sculptural rather than structural-looking — the table is as much an object as a surface, and it is usually placed where it can be seen from more than one side.
