Bonsai Side Table

Bonsai interprets natural form without imitating it. The base is hand-hammered brass, worked to recall the branching of a tree, and the hammering is what gives the metal its light-catching irregularity.

Because the structure is open and branching rather than solid, the table reads as an object rather than a support — which is why it works as well beside a chair as it does holding anything.
