Damasse reinterprets the Dama architecture with capitonne detailing — the classic buttoned-and-stitched treatment, executed here with real artisanal control.
The buttons and stitching create depth and visual rhythm across the headboard, so the surface catches light in a deliberately irregular way. The wall behind becomes part of the composition.
The upholstered base is linear and well-proportioned by contrast, letting the headboard carry the ornament alone. Timeless in the literal sense: this detail has been in use for two centuries.
