The Philia coffee table is built around a carabottino frame — the wooden grating traditionally found on yacht decks. It’s a detail that gives the piece an immediate sense of purpose. The structure isn’t decorative. It defines the whole object. And it connects directly to the broader Philia system, where the same logic runs from the coffee table through to the seating and double chaise longue.Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, the proportions are deliberate. At 45 1/4\” square and just under 8\” high, it sits low and grounded. Nothing about it feels accidental.

The frame is FSC-certified teak — sourced responsibly, and chosen because it handles sun, rain, and salt air without complaint. The feet are powder-coated stainless steel, finished in smoke, which keeps the base from looking too heavy against the teak grain.Depending on the configuration, the support belts come in Batyline or woven belt options, with a wide range of colors: Grey, Sand, Brown, Olive, Blue, Orange, Sky, Navy, and Ginger. Batyline in particular is a material that holds its color and structure well over time — it doesn’t sag or fade the way lesser outdoor materials do.

Part of a Bigger Conversation

The Philia table doesn’t work in isolation — and it’s not meant to. Within the Roda Philia system, the perimeter frame of the seating units also functions as a surface, so the coffee table extends that same idea outward.
