Rafael Round Table

At Ø230 cm this is one of the largest outdoor tables Ethimo make, seating ten to twelve with everyone able to see everyone else. That is the argument for a big round table, and Paola Navone’s Rafael makes it about as well as it can be made.

Construction is FSC-certified teak, offered brushed (T1S) for a raised, tactile grain, or pickled (T5) for a soft weathered grey. The top is built radially, so the grain runs outward from the centre — a considerable amount of work, and the detail that gives the table its character.

The optional revolving centre in Statuary marble is the piece’s real luxury. On a table this wide, reaching across is impossible; a lazy Susan in white marble solves the problem and gives the composition a bright focal point against the teak.

At 177 kg the table is fixed in practice once positioned. It suits a courtyard, a lawn, or a covered terrace where it can be the permanent centre of outdoor dining.
