Side table BERNARDO 353
The Bernardo side table by Roda combines a Simplon white stone base with a powder-coated stainless steel structure and top. Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, it works seamlessly across indoor and outdoor settings in three finish options: Smoke, Milk, and Rust.
A Design That Works Anywhere
Rodolfo Dordoni designed the Bernardo side table with one clear idea: it should fit without forcing itself into a space. The proportions are compact and considered. At just under 21 inches tall with a 19 and a half inch square footprint, it sits comfortably next to a lounge chair, a sofa, or a dining setup without crowding anything. It doesn’t demand attention, but it earns it.
The round and square top options give it enough flexibility to suit different furniture arrangements. And the overall silhouette stays clean regardless of which finish you choose.
Materials Built for Real Conditions
The base is Simplon white stone. It’s dense, naturally weighted, and gives the table a stability that lighter alternatives simply can’t match. The structure and top are powder-coated stainless steel, which handles humidity, sun exposure, and daily use without showing it. Roda chose these materials deliberately, and it shows in how the table holds up over time.
Finish options for the metal include Smoke, Milk, and Rust. Each reads differently depending on the surrounding palette. Smoke leans cool and understated. Milk keeps things light and airy. Rust brings a warmer, more grounded tone. Beyond the standard metal top, certain configurations offer a gres top in Natural or a wavy glass top in Fern, Navy, or Paprika for those who want a bit more surface character.
Practical by Nature
The stone base isn’t just a design choice. It keeps the table planted, even on a terrace where wind or uneven surfaces might be an issue. The stainless steel top wipes clean easily and doesn’t absorb stains or moisture. There’s a functionality built into the Bernardo that doesn’t need to be explained at length. It just works.
Where It Belongs
The Bernardo side table moves between spaces without losing its footing. It works on a covered terrace alongside teak loungers, or inside next to an upholstered sofa in a living room. Bars and restaurants use it precisely because it holds its own in mixed-material environments without clashing. It pairs with almost anything because it doesn’t try to compete with anything.
That versatility is part of what makes it useful in hospitality settings, but it translates just as naturally into a private home. The finish range from Roda’s broader material library means it can be matched to very different interior directions.
Built to Last
Powder-coated stainless steel resists corrosion. The Simplon white stone base doesn’t degrade with outdoor exposure. These aren’t features that need qualifying. The Bernardo side table is built to stay outdoors year-round in most climates and still look right several seasons in. That kind of durability isn’t a selling point so much as a baseline expectation for a piece at this level.

Nordic design inspires HAY's taste for clean lines, simple geometric shapes, and quality materials like wood, metal, and textiles. Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox.
