A Design That Knows What It Is

Piero Lissoni designed the Stresa collection with a clear idea in mind: no excess. The lounge chair carries that through completely. Its lines are clean without being cold, its proportions balanced without feeling calculated. The perforated backrest — a sheet of aluminum cut with a small diamond pattern — gives the piece a visual lightness that reads well from a distance and even better up close. It is one of those details that makes you look twice.

Built From Aluminum, Through and Through

The entire structure is powder-coated aluminum. That matters more than it might sound. Aluminum is light enough to move around easily, strong enough to handle years of outdoor exposure, and fully recyclable. The powder coating adds a layer of resilience and keeps the finish looking sharp over time. The Stresa lounge chair is available in a Smoke metal finish, which sits well against both natural and more urban surroundings.

Comfort That Works Outdoors

The slatted base is designed to hold cushions properly, and the cushions themselves are hydro-draining — meaning water moves through rather than sitting in them. That is not a small thing for outdoor furniture. It means the chair is ready to use again quickly after rain, without the usual wringing-out routine. The seat height with cushion sits at about 15 and three-quarter inches, with an arm height of just over 22 inches. It is a chair you actually settle into.

At Home in More Than One Place

The Stresa lounge chair fits naturally across a range of environments. Private terraces, hotel courtyards, rooftop spaces, Mediterranean gardens — it adapts without trying to dominate. The chair measures roughly 25 inches wide, 29 and a half inches deep, and stands about 39 and a half inches tall. And because it sits within a broader collection — sofas, dining chairs, poufs, coffee tables, dining tables — it is easy to build a coherent outdoor space around it rather than piecing things together from different sources.

Something That Lasts

Roda built the Stresa collection for long-term outdoor use, and the lounge chair reflects that clearly. The aluminum construction does not rust or warp. The hydro-draining cushion system handles the elements practically. But beyond the materials, there is something about the design itself — restrained, considered, not chasing any particular trend — that means it will not look out of place five or ten years from now. It is outdoor furniture that does not ask to be replaced.
