Teodora Lounge Armchair

Teodora is a demonstration of what Ethimo’s own design studio can do when the brief is simply to make an armchair as well as possible. The frame is natural teak, steam-worked and curved into a continuous oval that wraps the sitter — no visible joints breaking the line, which is considerably harder to achieve in solid timber than it looks.

Inside that oval sits the woven seat. The rope is Olive Green and the weave is rhomboid rather than a simple grid, which does two things: it gives the seat genuine three-dimensionality, and it produces a play of light and shadow across the surface that changes through the day.

At 79 cm wide and 84 cm high the chair is generously scaled without being bulky. The height gives real back support, while the curved frame means there are no hard edges anywhere the body touches.

Teodora has since expanded into a full collection — a sofa, coffee table and pouf now join the lounge armchair — so the same curved teak and woven rope language can be extended across an entire outdoor setting.
