Lodge Sofa

Christophe Pillet has spent a career arguing that elegance and simplicity are the same idea, and the Lodge sofa makes the case plainly. Designed for Ethimo, it sits low and wide — 210 cm across, 100 cm deep, 60 cm tall — so it reads as a horizontal line drawn across a terrace rather than a piece of furniture set on top of one.

The frame is glossy powder-coated metal, FSC-certified, offered in four finishes from a warm and grounded palette: Metal Glossy Kaki, Metal Glossy Radice, Metal Glossy Sesamo, and Metal Glossy Black Red. Against that slim structure the cushions do the talking. They are upholstered in outdoor-grade acrylic and Trevira inspired by natural canvas and finished with denim-style stitching, a detail that gives the surfaces a relaxed, tailored texture. Cover options include Acrylic Nature Grey, Acrylic Nature White, Acrylic Moss, Acrylic Walnut, Trevira Dark Taupe, and Trevira Brown.

The seat depth is deliberately generous. Lodge is built for the long part of the afternoon rather than for perching, and the low back encourages you to settle into it. That same low proportion makes the sofa easy to place — against a wall, floating in the middle of a terrace, or squared off around the Lodge coffee table without interrupting a view.
