Three-seater right module PHILIA 302
The Philia outdoor sofa system by Roda, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, combines FSC-certified teak, Batyline support, and hydro-draining cushions into a modular, reclinable seating solution built for terraces and gardens. 110\” wide, refined, and deeply comfortable.
A Design That Does More Than Look Good
Rodolfo Dordoni designed Philia around a simple but smart idea: the perimeter frame serves double duty. It supports the backrests and functions as a tabletop at the same time, so seating and surface space alternate naturally across the piece. Nothing feels forced. The proportions are balanced, the profiles clean, and the overall silhouette sits low and grounded — exactly where outdoor furniture should be.
Materials Built for the Outdoors
The structure is FSC-certified teak, shaped in the carabottino pattern — the same wooden grating found on yacht decks. It runs through the entire system, from the coffee table sections to the seating modules. Beneath the cushions, Batyline provides the support. The feet are powder-coated stainless steel in a smoke finish. These are materials chosen to perform outside, not just to look good on a showroom floor.Batyline is available in grey, sand, olive, brown, navy, ginger, and sky. Belt support options follow a similar range. And the cushion covers span a wide fabric selection — from Allegro and Oxford to Duna and Riva — so there’s genuine room to tailor the piece to a specific space and palette.
Comfort That Adapts
The backrests and armrests are lightly padded and recline in three positions. That alone opens up a lot of options. But what makes Philia genuinely versatile is that the armrest can also be used as a backrest or headrest depending on how you’re sitting — or not sitting. The cushions are hydro-draining, which matters when the furniture lives outside year-round. Seat height is 7-7/8\” without cushions, rising to 13-3/4\” with them. It sits close to the ground, which gives the whole system a relaxed, lounge-like feel.
At Home on a Terrace or in a Garden
Philia works well in larger outdoor spaces — terraces, garden rooms, poolside areas — where there’s room to let the modular system breathe. At 110-5/8\” long and 45-1/4\” deep, this is a substantial piece. But it doesn’t overwhelm a space. The low profile and natural teak tone keep it from feeling heavy. And because the frame integrates table surfaces, there’s less need to crowd the arrangement with additional side tables.

Roda built this collection around the idea of outdoor living as something unhurried — furniture for gardens and terraces where people actually spend time, not just pass through.
Built to Last Outside
Teak is one of the most resilient woods available for outdoor use. Combined with powder-coated stainless steel feet and Batyline support — a material specifically developed for outdoor furniture — the Philia system is designed to hold up through seasons without demanding constant attention. The hydro-draining cushions shed water rather than absorbing it. The upholstery range is broad enough that replacement covers, if ever needed, can be matched or refreshed without replacing the whole piece.

Nordic design inspires HAY's taste for clean lines, simple geometric shapes, and quality materials like wood, metal, and textiles. Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox.
