Choosing an outdoor sofa
The sofa sets the layout of an outdoor living area: everything else, from the coffee table to the rug and the shade, is arranged around it. Because it is the piece you will sit on most, it is also the one most worth trying in person before you order.
We carry nearly 300 outdoor sofas from Roda, Ethimo, Gandia Blasco, Atmosphera, Manutti, Rugiano, Gervasoni and Tuuci. Frames are teak, aluminium or woven outdoor fibre, and cushions use quick-drying foam and outdoor fabrics.
Fixed or modular
A fixed two- or three-seater suits a balcony or a defined terrace. Modular systems let you build an L-shape or U-shape and rearrange it later, which is why designers in LA specify them for larger patios and pool decks. Size, depth and materials
Check seat depth as well as length. Deep lounge seats are made for reclining; shallower seats suit conversation. Leave about 18 inches between the sofa and the coffee table, and at least 30 inches for walkways.
